Safety Tips
Here are a few common sense safety tips to help you have a safe and successful Northwoods geocaching adventure:
- Tell someone where you’re going and when you’ll be back.
- Geocache with a buddy. If for some reason you run into any trouble, take a tumble or just get lost, you’ve got someone who can help. Plus, working together with family and friends is what makes geocaching so much fun!
- Bring along water and some basic emergency equipment, like a cell phone, pocket knife, rain poncho and a lighter or matches.
- Be aware of what’s around you. For example, don’t concentrate so hard on your GPS that you walk into a tree or into a stream.
- Keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately.
- Remember to take it easy and have fun!
